your baby never looked good in blue

... i'm thinking of something to post d2... then bigla ko narinig 'tong song na to... ilang araw ko na naririnig to.... at ilang araw ko na rin knakanta to... nice song... share ko lng... Ü

your baby never looked good in blue
you should hear what
they're saying about you
you should see the way
they talk behind your back
they said you found another
and that you're gonna leave
but you wouldn't do that to me

so, say it ain't true
the things that they've been saying
they say that you've found someone new
but don't break my heart cause
your baby never looked good in blue
your baby never looked good in blue

in the morning, staring into your eyes
your eyes look everywhere
everywhere but mine
darling, I've got a feeling
that the tears are gonna start
and losing you would
tear my world apart

so, say it ain't true
the things that they've been saying
they say that you've found someone new
but don't break my heart cause
your baby never looked good in blue
your baby never looked good in blue

tell me (tell me)
you still love me
and show me (show me)
you're still mine
don't tell me there's somebody new
cause you don't wanna
see your baby cry
oh, ooh
no, no, no, no

so, say it ain't true
the things that they've been saying
they say that you've found someone new
but don't break my heart cause
your baby never looked good in blue
your baby never looked good in blue

(your baby never looked good in blue)
your baby
(your baby never looked good in blue)
don't make me blue

hereditary spherocytosis

... ano ba itong hereditary spherocytosis na ito?? bket ko ba sya pinopost??? simple lng... may hereditary spherocytosis ang baby ko....

... i just got the results of her blood test kahapon... kailangan daw extra careful kay reese... iwasang magksakit sya or magkaron ng infection pra hndi daw pumutok ang red blood cell na medyo abnormal... very rare daw yng sakit na ito at hndi nagagamot... hmmm.... may article akong nkuha sa net about this disease... basa na.... dko maintindihan ng lubusan e... hehehe...

What is hereditary spherocytosis?

Hereditary spherocytosis (HS) is an inherited disease that causes anemia. If your child has hereditary spherocytosis, either parent may also have the disease. Occasionally, neither parent of an affected child has the disease; this is considered a spontaneous mutation. In the United States, approximately 1 in 5,000 people have hereditary spherocytosis.

Hereditary spherocytosis is a disease that results in the formation of abnormal red blood cells with fragile cell walls. Red blood cells circulate in the blood and contain hemoglobin, which carries oxygen to all parts of the body. Normal red blood cells are shaped like a disc. Spherocytes are round and fragile and do not change shape to pass through certain organs as easily as normal red blood cells. Because spherocytes cannot change their shape easily, they stay in the spleen longer than normal red blood cells, and the membrane surrounding the cell becomes damaged. After circulating through the spleen many times, the cell eventually becomes so damaged that it is destroyed by the spleen.

What are the signs and symptoms of hereditary spherocytosis?

Symptoms of hereditary spherocytosis vary depending on the severity of the disease. Many people with hereditary spherocytosis have a normal hemoglobin level. Most patients have only a mild anemia. These patients compensate by making more red blood cells, which is measured by the reticulocyte (immature red blood cell) count. However, infection, fever and stress can stimulate the spleen to destroy more red blood cells than usual. If this occurs, your child's hemoglobin level will drop and the bilirubin level may increase, causing the skin and whites of the eyes to be yellow.

Blood cells are produced in the bone marrow. Sometimes an infection (specifically, parvovirus) can cause the bone marrow to stop cell production temporarily. If this occurs, your child's hemoglobin will decrease, and there will be very few reticulocytes in the blood. This is called an aplastic crisis. It may take several days before red blood cell production will resume. Occasionally, anemia may be severe enough to require a red blood cell transfusion.

What is the “osmotic fragility” test?

The osmotic fragility test is done to confirm the diagnosis of hereditary spherocytosis. A patient's red blood cells are placed in different concentrations of saline solution for 24 hours. When red blood cells are placed in saline solution, they absorb water until the cell membrane bursts. Spherocytes do not tolerate weak saline solutions, causing them to burst sooner than normal cells.

Treating hereditary spherocytosis

Splenectomy (surgical removal of the spleen) is the treatment of choice for symptomatic hereditary spherocytosis and can be done when a child is five years of age or older. Treatment before the age of five consists of daily folic acid (vitamin) supplementation.

Removing the spleen does not cure the disease, but it does allow the red blood cells to live longer so that a child no longer becomes anemic during periods of stress or infection and the skin and eyes do not turn yellow. After the spleen is removed, the child is at an increased risk for certain types of infection. For this reason, penicillin is given twice a day for the rest of your child's life. It is very important that your child receive all of the normal childhood immunizations and a few special immunizations (pneumococcal and meningococcal immunizations) to prevent infection.

LEARNING TO HANDLE STRESS

Everybody experiences stress. A certain amount is even good for you. Too much stress can damage your physical, emotional, and mental health. Since it is not always possible to prevent stress, we all need to learn how to reduce it. Choose among the following techniques what you think will work best for you. Make them part of your everyday life.

1. PREVENT IT. How much stress do you cause just by putting unnecessary pressure on yourself? Do you over react to little things that annoy you? Every time you let anger or frustration take control, it drains away good energy and sidetracks you from more important things. Obviously, you can't always control what goes on around you, but you can control how you respond. Try a little more patience next time you get caught in traffic and you'll avoid unnecessary stress.

2. SET GOALS. Some people drift through life going from crisis to crisis letting stress build up. If you set goals, you can take better control of your life. Think where you'd like to be in 1 year or 5 years. Be realistic by starting with small, daily goals, then build up from there. Re-evaluate your goals from time to time and be prepared to adjust them as changes occur in your life.

3. ESTABLISH PRIORITIES. Do you often feel rushed because "there's no time"? Why not regulate the pace of your life? Plan ahead. Make a list of tasks in order of priority. Concentrate on what's really important to you and drop those things that only waste your energy.

4. TAKE TIME OUT. Spend a few minutes alone each day to break the routine. This helps ease stress and gives you a better perspective of what's around you. Set aside time during the week for recreation, hobbies, or exercise. Regular exercise is an excellent way to reduce stress. Physical fitness gives you a feeling of well-being by relieving tension and increasing productivity.
5. HAVE FAITH. Peace of mind comes to those who trust in God's power to lessen life's burdens through prayer.

6. THINK POSITIVELY. Having a positive attitude will help you assert yourself and feel more in control. You waste energy if you constantly criticize yourself or set unrealistic goals. Negative thoughts generally produce negative results. Instead of saying, "I can't," practice saying, "I can." You'll be surprised how much more you can accomplish.

7. HAVE A SENSE OF HUMOR. Laughter can be one of the best medicines for stress. Being able to laugh at yourself and the world can break tension and give you some relief from stress.

8. COMMUNICATE. Suffering in silence only increases the stress you build up inside. Talk over your feelings and concerns with your family, a friend, counselor, preacher, or health professional. "Thinking out loud" like this not only relieves stress, but may also shed new light on your problems. Learn to listen and consider suggestions with an open mind.

9. MAKE DECISIONS. Most people have no idea how much stress they create for themselves by resisting change. They wait, hoping a situation will go back to the way it was. Why wait when you have choices and could make a decision? When it's time to change old habits and move forward, make your own change for the better.

10. GET SUPPORT. Do you sometimes find problems too personal to discuss? Or feel they may be too much of a burden on others? Find a support group in your community. Remember, you're not alone. Other people with similar problems understand what you're going through without the need for lengthy explanations. They share your concerns and they want to learn how to cope with stress, too.

forever is not as long as it used to be

... i was watching ASAP '06 a while ago and Nikki Gil launched her new single entitled "Forever is not as long as it used to be"... i am not a fan of Nikki but i like her new song...

... can't help but wonder... is there really such a thing as forever? hmmm...

Forever Is Not As Long As It Used To Be

How can you say the feeling's gone
How can you tell me that we're no longer one

How can you say you've been untrue
Can you imagine the pain that i'm going through

You used to tell me your heart would be mine
Till the end of the world, till the end of all time

You said that we'd always be together
You said that you'd never stop loving me
You said a lifetime was what you were after
I guess forever is not as long as it used to be

How will i tell you that i'm still yours
How will i stop you from walking out my door

How can you say you're not coming back
Can you imagine how much i'll miss your love

Oh,where did i go wrong
All your emotions were so strong
I thought that they would last
I never thought your love for me
Would fade so fast

You said that we'd always be together
You said that you'd never set me free
You said we'd always care for each other
I guess forever is not as long as it used to be

You said that we'd always be together
You said that you'd never stop loving me
You said a lifetime was what you were after
I guess forever is not as long as it used to be
The feeling is not as strong as it used to be
Forever is not as long as it used to be
